Connecting Cultures: Exploring the Lake Superior Fur Trade

Friday, July 23, 2010 - Sunday, July 25, 2010   10:30 am-4:30 pm

Educators, living history re-enactors and fur trade experts demonstrate the skills and tradition of the 18th-century fur trade including flint knapping, glass bead making, open-fire cooking and traditional games.

Adults $7; children (5-17) $3.50; students and senior citizens (65 and over) $6; family (two adults and two or more dependent children 5-17) $19.

The museum, composed of three historic island structures and the modern Capser Center, contains exhibits detailing Wisconsin history from 17th-century exploration and the era of the fur trade to the arrival of summer tourists, known as cottagers, in the early 20th century.
