A Day on the Green: Traditional Madeline Island 4th of July

July 4  | Noon – 5 PM

Enjoy a true slice of Americana as you celebrate Independence Day on Madeline Island. This annual Fourth of July celebration is a tradition on Madeline Island. Island residents and visitors gather on the Museum Green and take part in the day’s festivities including a parade, speeches, music, and more.

This is a FREE event.

Ojibwe Artist in Residency

July 25-26  | 10 AM – 5 PM
August 8-9  | 10 AM – 5 PM

Witness the creation of amazing pieces of art from featured Ojibwe artists.

Connecting Cultures:
Exploring the Lake Superior Fur Trade

July 10-12  | 10 AM – 5 PM

Explore 150 years of Lake Superior fur trade history through a grand encampment. Historians and re-enactors will demonstrate many aspects of life at a fur post. This is history brought to life!

Island Boutique

Nov. 28  | 10 AM – 4 PM

Shop this holiday season at the Madeline Island Holiday Boutique! This event features local and regional arts and crafts and a soup lunch to benefit the island school parent/teacher association. Receive one free return passenger ticket to the mainland with the purchase of any item during this special event. Free return passenger tickets are available only at the Madeline Island Museum and for use the day of the Holiday Boutique.
